Using the HR Admin Centre

The Admin Centre is where HR admins and project managers decide how survey results are shown in Elevate, who sees which results, and how the cascade runs across the organisation. It means you can step back from sending results to every team, while staying confident that the right people see the right data and that action is happening.

Who can use the Admin Centre

The Admin Centre is available to admin users on Workplace Insight plans and above. Your first admin users are agreed in advance between your organisation and our Support or Client Outcomes team.

Step 1: Set your reporting options

We recommend you do this first. These options decide how Workplace Insight is shown across your whole organisation, so it matches your reporting needs:

Option

What it means

Include service climate statements

Choose yes or no.

Include equality, diversity and inclusion statements

Choose yes or no.

Display company scores

Show scores out of 7 or as a percentage, whichever is most meaningful for you.

Restrict cascading to company admin only

Choose yes to keep sharing in the hands of admin users, or no to let others cascade too.

Benchmark

Choose what your company results are benchmarked against.

Select Update and your results will be shown using these settings straight away.

Tip: To change your options later, select your initials at the top of the screen, then Update Workplace Insight Admin Options. This reopens the settings page.

Step 2: Review the results before anyone else

Before you release access, review the results yourself. Use Preview Leader Pack to see the results in Story Mode, exactly as your senior leaders will. This is a good time to check your employment group structure and plan your key messages.

Step 3: Assign departments to the right people

In Workplace Insight, go to Other Departments to see the employment group structure from your survey. You can assign each employment group to the person responsible for it:

  1. Select the three dots next to the employment group.
  2. Choose the person responsible for that group. More then one person can be assigned to an employment group.
  3. Save your selection.

Once assigned, you can view the group in Story Mode to see exactly what that person will see.

Step 4: Share results

You have two ways to share results with the people you have assigned:

  • Invite them to Elevate (recommended). They will see their department and any teams below it, and can explore results in Story Mode or Guided Discovery.
  • Request a data pack and send it to them outside the platform, if they do not need to log in.

Invited users receive an email and log in at elevate.b.co.uk with their existing b.co.uk password.

Step 5: Follow the cascade and track commitments

Elevate guides your organisation through three stages:

  1. Understand your results and set the direction. Senior leaders review the Leader Pack in Story Mode and agree priorities. An action plan pack is available if you run a leadership action planning session.
  2. Engage the wider team. Managers review their Team Insights in Story Mode, then run a team action planning session using the team action plan pack.
  3. Turn ideas into accountability. Teams add ideas to the Idea Scratch Pad, build action plans and commit to them with start and end dates.

As an admin, you can see everyone's commitments across the organisation, so you can support leaders to hold their teams and departments accountable.

Good to know: Team Insights can only be viewed in Story Mode. This is intentional, to help managers discuss results with their teams in a simple, structured way. At team level, Leadership, My Manager and Fair Deal are not offered as 1+3 priorities because team members cannot directly change them, but they still appear in Remaining Factors and the data pack.

Other useful tools

  • Management Report: a comparison table with the 8 factors across the top and each employment group down the side, so you can see where each area is doing well and where there are opportunities.
  • Coaching Hub: a central library of learning and development resources to help managers and leaders take action on their results.

Coming soon: Progress Visibility is coming soon. It will show which managers have reviewed their data, shared insights with their team and made progress on their action plans.

Recommended rollout

We recommend releasing access in stages, starting at the top and cascading down:

  1. Agree your admin users with your Best Companies Support or Client Outcomes contact.
  2. Set your reporting options and review the results before anyone else has access.
  3. Share the Leader Pack with your senior leadership team so they can agree priorities and key messages.
  4. Assign departments and invite your people leaders so they can explore their own results.
  5. Support teams to action plan and keep an eye on commitments across the organisation.

Tip: Agree your key messages with senior leaders before inviting people managers. A consistent story from the top makes the cascade much more effective.

 Frequently asked questions

Can I change my reporting options after I have set them?

Yes. Select your initials at the top of the screen and open the admin options to change them at any time.

Can I change who a department is assigned to?

Yes.

Can I add another admin user?

Yes. This can be done within the Best Companies Survey Set Up dashboard under the Improve step.

What if someone assigned a task does not have Elevate access?

You can still assign them parts of an action plan. They let their manager know how it is going, and the manager updates progress in Elevate.
