How Do I Action Manager Validation?
MC³ results become available once the b-Heard survey has closed. At this stage, Project Managers assigned to the Best Companies dashboard complete the ‘manager validation’ steps to ensure all scores are accurate and valid.
Manager validation provides people managers with the opportunity to check and approve or change their direct reports and this becomes available once they have completed their survey. An email will be triggered inviting a people manager to confirm their direct reports or amend any that have perhaps changed manager since the data was collated within the Employee Upload task during survey set-up.
Once the survey has closed, The task “Manager Validation” will appear within the survey set up dashboard asking a project manager to complete the validation step.
From here, you will be able to see how many managers have confirmed their direct reports. An automatic reminder will be sent to all managers 2 days after your survey has closed prompting them to review their direct reports if they haven’t already. You can send additional reminders from your “Post Launch Dashboard”. You will be able to see how many Managers have completed this process. Any reminders will only be sent to those who have not completed the task.
To ensure that people managers in your business get the most accurate MC3 score, it is preferable that this step is completed by as many managers as possible.
You will need to navigate to your engagement plan to close your manager validation. From here you will be able to see how many managers have validated their direct reports and closing out the process will allow you to review your management structure.
Once you have closed your manager validation, you will be automatically directed to the ‘Confirm your management structure’ step.
Confirming your Management Structure
The manager column is populated using the data you’ve provided within your employee upload during survey setup. It’s not uncommon that employees can move whilst your survey is live, so we give you the opportunity to review any suggested changes at this stage.
Our recommendation would be to ensure the most suitable manager is selected, for example, if a manager changes just before or after the surveying process, we’d recommend to assign the previous manager.
Within the suggested manager column, there are a few scenarios that you may wish to review and amend before you move on to selecting your roll out option.
No manager assigned
Employees without a manager will appear within the ‘Suggested Manager(s)’ column populated with ‘Please select a new manager’. To confirm the correct manager, simply start typing the managers name in the ‘Correct Manager’ search box and then select the record. The row will then appear with a green tick.
There may be scenarios whereby an employee doesn’t have a manager that sits within your employee upload so you can leave this blank.
More than one manager is claiming an employee
Employees who have been claimed by multiple managers, you will see both the original and suggested new manager. You can see the suggested managers for each employee in this task and the ‘Correct manager’ will always default to the manager selected on the employee upload, but you are able to change this, simply start typing the managers name in the ‘Correct Manager’ search box and then select the record. The row will then appear with a green tick.
If you are fully confident in the management data within your employee upload, you can move past this stage without making any changes.
Please be aware that once you have closed your validation, you will be unable to change your management structure.
Once you have confirmed that your management structure is correct, you will then be able to select your options to cascade your data.
