How Can We Encourage Participation In Our b-Heard Survey?
Achieving the highest possible employee participation in your b-Heard survey enhances the quality and depth of insights. A broad range of responses across your organisation ensures richer, more comprehensive data to inform your decisions.
There are 3 main reasons why employees fail to complete a survey which can be addressed prior to the survey launching:
To ensure a high response rate, communication with those completing the survey is essential both before the survey is live and during the survey. To help improve your overall response rate you can:
-
Publicise the response rates across their organisation and encourage a little friendly competition with regards to which team might reach a certain percentage first. To find out how to monitor your response rates, please refer to this article .
-
Ensure people know that responding to the survey will help their organisation to understand the areas they can improve and what it can do more of to make it better.
-
Ensure their employees understand that the survey has been commissioned by the organisation and the invitation they will receive is genuine.
-
Create survey champions whose role is to promote awareness of the survey, help people feel comfortable with the process, support and help people where necessary and act as the all-important link between employees and Best Companies.
Charitable contributions
Many organisations make a donation to charity for every survey their employees complete. It is a great way to encourage your people to participate in the survey, while doing something good for charity. Organisations who donate to charity increase their response rate by an average of 50%.
If you would like to include a charitable donation, you can do this via your dashboard, simply enter the name of your chosen charity and the amount you wish to donate per survey within the charitable contribution task.
Survey Reminders
We encourage you to remind employees about the survey. If using our reminders, please make sure these are sent to all employees who have been selected for the survey and ensure to not target individuals.
It is important to NOT:
-
Coerce your employees with bonuses, gifts or promises of celebration
-
Send any communications that could influence responses
-
Hold presentations on how to complete the survey
