Are Response Rates Used In Calculating Engagement Scores?

An organisation's engagement score is solely determined by employees' responses, without adjustment for response rates.

While a higher response rate might suggest better engagement, various factors can influence the number of responses. For instance, employees in one organisation may find it easier to complete the survey due to differences in work setups or the nature of their jobs. Language barriers, with some employees not having English as their first language, or varying levels of education, or roles, might also impact response rates.

The engagement score, as calculated, relies entirely on the employees' feedback. As long as a sufficient number of responses are received, this provides an accurate representation of the organisation's engagement, regardless of the actual response rate.

However, while engagement scores are not adjusted based on response rates, insufficient responses would prevent us from accrediting or guaranteeing an organisation's engagement level.
